Glenna Mae Street

Glenna Church Street, 708 Belvedere Drive, Johnson City, Tennessee went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 5, 2006 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was 89 years old. Mrs. Street was a native of Johnson City, Tennessee and the daughter of the late Samuel Elcanay and Cora Colyer Church. She was married to Montie Joe Street for over 63 years until his passing in 1999. Mrs. Street was formerly employed by Leon Fernback and ETSU Bookstore before retiring. She was a charter member of TOPS # TN 321, Johnson City. She also was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Johnson City. She loved fishing, camping and crafts and spent many happy times in these activities. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Gene Church, and three sisters, Ruth Lewis, Marie and Mary Sue Church and two grandchildren. As a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Sister she is survived by two daughters, Norma 'Boots' Byrd, Johnson City and Janet 'Sue' Stout, Calabash, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Bryan Byrd, Wes Byrd both of Johnson City, Sherri Spell, Roanoke, Virginia, Joie Stout Bonds, Lexington, KY, Ronald W. Stout, Jr., Holly Springs, NC, and Andee Stout Garrison, Cary, NC; two son-in-laws Garnie Byrd and Ronald W. Stout, Sr.; four great grandchildren, one sister, Clara Jenkins, two brothers Harry and George Church, three sister-in-laws, Louise Church, Velma Church and Betty Church all of Johnson City. She is also survived by a number of loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 7, 2006 in the Morris Baker North Chapel. Reverend Donald R. Muncie II, Pastor, First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Ms. Mildred Skipworth, a former classmate of Mrs. Street, will provide music as well as Mr. Lanny Bodkins of the First Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker Funeral Home from 6-8PM with the funeral to follow at 8:00PM, Tuesday, November 7, 2006. Graveside services will be held at 9:30 AM Wednesday morning at Roselawn Memorial Park. Family and friends are requested to meet at Morris Baker Funeral at 9:00 AM, Wednesday to go to the gravesite. At other times friends and relatives can pay their respects at the home of her daughter, Norma Byrd, 708 Belvedere Drive, Johnson City, Tennessee. Active pallbearers will be two grandsons, Bryan Byrd and Wes Byrd, and nephews, David Baines, Harry 'Skip' Church, Gary Church, Wayne Church, and other family members. Honorary Pallbearers are Harry Monroe Church, George David Church, and Clara Church Jenkins.
