Gretta Jean Blevins

Gretta Jean “Dood” Blevins, 80, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, February 27, 2026.

A lifelong resident of Johnson City, Dood was born on October 31, 1945, to the late Robert and Viola Hale Osborne. She retired from American Water Heaters after many years of dedicated service.

Dood was an avid fan of Elvis Presley and found great joy in his music throughout her life. She will be remembered for her loving spirit, devotion to family, and the special bond she shared with those closest to her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister and best friend, Loretta “PeeWee” Williams; her sister, Irene Lawson; and her two brothers, Wayland “Wade” Osborne and Robert “Tom” Osborne.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Jess Blevins (Priscillia Bourne) and Daniel (Mindy Tester) Blevins; three grandchildren, Michael Stone, Seth Blevins, and Zoey Cates; a great-grandson, Braylyn; her sister, Geneva Riddle; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home.
