Helen Louise Austin

Helen Louise Austin, 81, 207 Avonlea Place, died Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Austin was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late John Bascomb and Ruby Lamons Wise and was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert 'Bob' Wise. Mrs. Austin was a lifelong member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, Oran T. Austin; one daughter, Amy King and her husband, Gary, Unicoi; one granddaughter, Ashley King; one sister, Dorothy Bowers, Johnson City; two brothers, Johnny Wise and his wife, Lilly, Johnson City, and Jimmy Wise, Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mrs. Austin will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel. Reverend Robert 'Bob' McCurry will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Friday at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery. Doug Roberts, Vincent Williams, Lt. Col. Claude 'Bo' Austin, Bill Wise, Ray Wise, Jeff Holland, Allen Rogers and Tim Greene will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
