Helen Mathes Peterson

Helen Mathes McMillan Peterson, 93, of Johnson City, died Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Rural Retreat, Virginia, daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Mary Alice James McMillan. Helen was a homemaker and longtime member of University Parkway Baptist Church. Her husband Howard Peterson preceded her in death in 2013. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Helen and Larry Harris. A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 2:00pm at Monte Vista Memorial Park, under the direction of Dr. Michael Oaks and Pastor Scott Thompson. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 1:45pm.
