Ifird Boston Hardin

Ifird Boston Hardin, 87, of Johnson City, passed away, Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the James H. Quillen V. A. Hospital at Mountain Home.Mr. Hardin was a native of Elizabethton and a son of the late, James and Jeanie Perry Hardin . He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Mead, one son, Mike Campbell, two brothers, Brown Hardin and Delmar Hardin and one sister, Minnie Hardin.Mr. Hardin was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was of the Baptist faith.Mr. Hardin was a retired employee of Gordon Furniture.Survivors include his wife, Marie of the home; four daughters, Ann Roark, Susan Coomer and Beth Hardin all of Johnson City and Patty Campbell of Charlotte, NC; one son, George Campbell of Jonesborough; one brother, Roby Hardin of Lenoir, NC; one sister, Ruth Edmondson of Florida, ten grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 pm Thursday, January 8, 2009 from the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Chaplain Sam Scaggs will officiate. Graveside services will be conducted at the Monte Vista Memorial Park on Friday at 1:00 pm. Active pallbearers will be George Campbell, Jordan Campbell, Nick Newberry and Kenny Blevins. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 12:30 pm Friday and proceed to the cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday.
