Irene H. Shell

Irene H. Shell, 65, of Johnson City, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Yancey County, NC, daughter of the late Fred and Maude Edna Peterson Honeycutt. Irene was an employee of Levi-Strauss Company for over 25 years. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents a son, Ellis D. Shell, Jr.; preceded her in death; two brothers, two sisters and a grandchild. Survivors include: her husband, Ellis D. Shell of the home; a son, Lee Shell also of the home; three brothers, Larry Honeycutt of SC, Fred Honeycutt, Jr. and Michael Honeycutt both of Johnson City; four sisters, Earlene McClellan of Castilia, OH, Zella May Simpson of Gray Station, Norma McInturff and Lorraine Babb both of Johnson City; five grandchildren and one great granddaughter. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
