James Edwin Mitchell

James E. 'Jimmy'? Mitchell, 58, of Johnson City, died Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Johnson City, son of the late Edwin C. Mitchell and Virginia L. Price Campbell. Jimmy was a carpet installer and of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, a brother, Jerry Lynn Mitchell and his great nephew, Jacob Alan Mitchell in 2009, preceded him in death. Survivors include: a brother, Ricky Mitchell of Johnson City; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Debra and Bill Proffitt, Brenda and Robert Williams and Teresa and Allen Buchanan all of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the Mitchell-Gobble Cemetery under the direction of Pastor Dan Case. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home and then leave in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Tim Arnett, Mickey Fisher, Gunner Presnell, Austin Hughes, James Gillis and Cody Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jerry Campbell and Eddie Mullens. Visitation at other times at the home of his sister, Teresa at: 309 North Road.
