James Ramsey

James Ramsey, 79, of Johnson City, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Pine Ridge Care Center in Elizabethton. He was a native of Carter County, son of the late Virginia Bayless. James was a retired truck driver for the City of Johnson City. In addition to his mother a brother and his wife Lillie Belle Ramsey preceded him in death. Survivors include: four step daughters, Frances Buchanan of Johnson City, Patricia Davis of Pigeon Forge, Clara Gorman of Spring Hill, Florida, and Loretta Ward of Johnson City; a sister Jo Ann Buckles of Elizabethton; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at 3:00 pm in the Monte Vista Memorial Park under the direction of Rev. Jackie Cole. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until 2:30pm at the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home. A procession will leave to go to Monte Vista at 2:45 pm. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
