James-Carroll "Parker" Hayes

December 16, 1987 — March 19, 2023

James-Carroll "Parker" Hayes, 35, of Johnson City, passed away March 19, 2023, in Johnson City.


He was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and a son of Jimmy and Deborah Barnett Hayes of Johnson City.


Parker was a Science Hill High School graduate and worked as a fraud investigator at Citi Solutions in Gray.


Parker had a passion for US and World Geography. He spoke fluent Spanish and a bit of other foreign languages. Parker was a naturally talented musician who played saxophone, piano, and about anything else he could get his hands on.


He was an avid hiker, landscape photographer, and animal lover. Parker especially loved his cat, Xerxes.


In addition to his parents, Jim and Deborah, Parker is survived by his two brothers, Trevor N. Hayes, Fort Pierce, FL, and, Taylor Hayes, Jonesborough, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.


The family of James-Carroll "Parker" Hayes will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm Friday, March 24, 2023, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow at 6:00 pm Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Andrew Stuebs officiating.
