Jamie Johnathon Payne, 56, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
A lifelong resident of Johnson City, Jamie was known for his warm spirit, deep love for music, and his enduring presence in the local musical community. He was a talented singer and spent many years performing with several bands, bringing joy and connection to those around him through his music.
Jamie was also an avid fisherman who cherished time spent on the water, especially fishing alongside his father. Those quiet moments were among his most treasured.
Above all, Jamie was a father who loved his daughters, Kelsey and Emilee, with all his heart.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Shirley Mae Payne; his cherished daughter, Kelsey Payne; and a sister, Cindy Burnette.
Jamie is survived by his father, Raymond Chester Payne; his daughter, Emilee Payne; two grandchildren; his sister, Mary Taylor; his brother, Chris Payne and wife Eva; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in his honor, with details to be announced.
Jamie will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of music and nature, and the deep love he had for his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
