Jane Hodge Gambrell passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on March 12, 2026. Born on September 28, 1941, in Washington county, Tennessee, Jane was a devoted dental assistant who found great joy in the beach, music, and dancing. She was particularly known for her love of the outdoors, her skill in gardening, and her talent for creating beautiful artificial flower arrangements.
Jane is survived by her son, Junior Little (Emilee); her sister, Kathy Salyer (Chad); her brother-in-law, Fred Feathers (Lee); and her sister-in-law, Trula Hodge. She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Ashley Edens (Josh), Justin Little (Catie), Jordan Little (April), and Caroline Barkley (Isaac); as well as eight great-grandchildren: Leah, Luke, and Landree Edens; Colton, Harper, Evan, and Carter Little; and Ledger Barkley.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 15 years, Jim Gambrell; her parents, Niles and Pauline Hodge; her daughter, Sandra Little; her brothers, Manuel, Bill, Lynn, and Jeffery Hodge; her sister, Sharon Feathers; and her sister-in-law, Martha Hodge.
The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to her wonderful caregivers: Roberta Drake, Judy Royston, Tracey Silva, Vickie Potter, Debbie Bowman, and Shirley Dover. We also appreciate the exceptional care provided by Amedisys Hospice of Elizabethton.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Feathers, Justin Little, Jordan Little, Isaac Barkley, Chad Salyer and Luke Edens.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral will be immediately following at 7:00pm, with grandson-in-law, Josh Edens officiating. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 11:00am in Gray Community Cemetery (193 Liberty Church Rd.) all attending are asked to meet at the cemetery no later than 10:50am.
