Janice L. Gannon, 58, 2056 DeVault Bridge Road, Piney Flats, died Saturday, July 16, 2005, at Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol, TN. Mrs. Gannon was a native of Pikeville, KY, and had lived in Piney Flats for the past 10 years. She was a daughter of the late Fernie and Myrtle Pack Parsons and was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Gannon, and one brother, Arnold Parsons. She was the owner and operator of KC Tanning, Piney Flats. Mrs. Gannon attended Island Road Evangelical Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Charles Gannon, Hampton, and Paul Gannon, Piney Flats; one daughter, Stephanie Jeter, Piney Flats; one brother, Randal Parsons, Pikeville, KY; two grandchildren, Christopher Gannon and Kelli Jeter; one stepgrandson, Bobby Weaver; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mrs. Gannon will be conducted at 8 PM Monday, July 18, 2005, from the Morris Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend L.D. Lane and Reverend Mike Hopson will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday at New Bethel Cemetery, Piney Flats, TN. Pallbearers will be Jason Parsons, Gene Casey, Bobby Weaver, Jeremy Parsons, Tim Meade and Darrell Bohanon. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 AM Tuesday and travel in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
