Jerry Jackson Lawson, 83, of Johnson City died Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Cleveland County Hospice House in Kings Mountain, NC. Jerry was a native of Corning, Arkansas, daughter of Robert E. Jackson and Effie May Crafton. Jerry was a retired health information manager for James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She was a longtime member of Skyline Heights Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, her husband, George Lawson (1980); an infant twin sister; a sister, Joan Davis, preceded her in death. Survivors include: a son, Gregory A. Lawson and his wife Sherry, of Jonesborough; a daughter, Leslie Lawson McCraw and her husband Barry, of Kings Mountain, NC; a sister, Ruth Stafford of Old Hickory, TN; granddaughters, Kelsie McCraw-Rhyne and her husband David, of Kings Mountain, NC, and Cindy Yalowitz, of Jonesborough; grandsons, Garrett Lawson and his wife Natasha, of Jonesborough, and Mitchel McCraw, of Kings Mountain, NC; great grandchildren, Spencer Hamm, of Jonesborough, and Jackson Rhyne, of Kings Mountain, NC; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 22, 2016 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at the Morris-Baker Funeral Home in the Dogwood Chapel. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00pm under the direction of Rev. Mike Richards. A committal service will be held in the Monte Vista Memorial Park following the funeral service. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
