Jerry Richard Blevins, Sr.

Jerry Richard Blevins, Sr., 65, of Johnson City, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at his residence in Johnson City.He was a native of Johnson City and a son of the late, Wiley Ray and Stella Mae Clark Blevins. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Don Blevins and LeRoy Blevins; one sister, Rebecca Blevins. He served with the U. S. Marines and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Blevins was in construction. Survivors include; his wife, Jeanie Arnett Blevins; four children, Wanda Smith and Todd Blevins both of Elizabethton, Dallas Blevins of Gray and Jerry Blevins, Jr. of Ohio; two step children, Lori Jones of Elizabethton and Michael Jones of Morganton, NC; thirteen grandchildren; one sister, Mary Collette of Johnson CityFuneral services will be conducted at 8:00 pm Thursday, June 16, 2011 from the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. C. W. Snodgrass and Rev. Johnny Burleson will officiate. Burial will be held on Friday at the Sparks Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. A procession will leave the funeral home at 12:15 pm on Friday. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday.
