Jerry Lee Yunker was born in rural Windsor, IL on October 26, 1936, to Harlan and Lucille (Edwards) Yunker. He passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on August 3, 2026, in Johnson City, TN. Jerry married the love of his life, L. Marilyn Jenkins, on June 25, 1955. They had two sons, Bryan and Charles.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his wife Marilyn of 48 years, and his son Bryan. He is survived by his son, Charles, daughters in law Susan Yunker and Debbie Yunker Smith, Grandson Jason Yunker, Granddaughters Sandy Vanderberg, Rachel Cole, and RaeLynn Vanderhoof. He has 8 great grandchildren, Cameron, Maggie, Aubrey, Aiden, Teagan, Taryn, Mia and Violet.

Jerry graduated from Sycamore High School in 1954 and worked as a mechanic until 1956. He then attended Southern Illinois University and graduated in 1960 with a business degree. He worked for Argonne National Laboratory for 6 years, and then Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. for 25 years. After Goodyear, he was a commercial real estate broker and had his own firm. He and Marilyn retired to Branson, MO in 2002. He wants everyone to know that he is thankful to all who helped him in his life.

A graveside service will be held in Clarendon Hills Cemetery (6900 S Cass Ave, Darien, IL 60561) and will be announced forthcoming.
