Joan B. Webb

Joan B. Webb, 83, Johnson City, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 at Johnson City Medical Center. Joan was a native of Wakefield, Yorkshire, United Kingdom and moved to Tennessee in 1961. She was a daughter of the late Percy and Lois Atkins Batty. At the age of 14, Joan became a hairstylist and was the former owner of Embassy Hair Salon. Joan was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church. Survivors include: two sons, Alan Webb, and his wife Debbie, of Virginia Beach, VA, and David Webb of Johnson City; sisters Rene King of Burnsville, NC, Shirley Simpson of The Isle of Wright, and Lois Lloyd of Yorkshire; brothers Tony Batty of Yorkshire and Bryan Batty of Yorkshire; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ernest Webb and brothers Archie and Kenneth Batty.
