Joe Clark Shipley, Jr.

Joe Clark Shipley, Jr., 71, 477 Sportsman Boat Dock Road, Piney Flats, died Friday, December 2, 2005 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. Mr. Shipley was a native of Elkhorn City, KY and had lived all of his life in Johnson City. He was a son of the late Joe Clark Shipley, Sr and Fay Anderson Shipley and was also preceded in death by his wife, Deanna Hunt Shipley and one brother, George Ross Shipley. Mr. Shipley is survived by one daughter, Joanna Shipley, Mexico; one son, Richard Baxter Shipley, Johnson City and one brother, Baxter Shipley, Johnson City. A funeral service for Mr. Shipley will be conducted at 8 PM Sunday from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel. Reverend Mike Pelham will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Monday at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 AM and travel in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
