John Donald Randolph, Sr. 78, of 152 Woodland Drive, Johnson City died Monday, June 21, 2010 in the Veteran Affairs Nursing Unit at Mountain Home. Mr. Randolph was a native of Carter County, TN and was a son of the late Kermit O. and Helen Buckles Randolph. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War. Mr. Randolph was a retired CNA (nursing assistant) at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Mountain Home with thirty-five years of service. He was a member of the Pinecrest Baptist Church. Mr. Randolph enjoyed fishing, and also growing and sharing garden vegetables with family and friends. Survivors include: his wife Lucille Mullins Randolph of the home; one son John Randolph, Jr. and his wife Wanda of Elizabethton; two daughters, Teresa Gibson of Jonesborough and Sherry Clinton and her husband Robert of Johnson City; two brothers, Jim Randolph and his wife Linda of Piney Flats and Meldon Randolph and his wife Margaret of Kingsport, TN; one sister, Ruby Maxey and husband Jack of Johnson City; four grandchildren, Justin Randolph, Trinity Henley, Clifton Gibson and Heather Clinton; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family of John Donald Randolph, Sr. will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 7 PM in the North Chapel. Rev. Gary Thacker will officiate. Special music by Mrs. Ruby Maxey, Pianist. The committal service will be conducted at 10 AM Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 9:50 AM on Thursday. Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Boone Dam VFW and soldiers from the Tennessee National Guard.
