Obituary for Johnny Gordon Fox
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Johnny Gordon Fox, a cherished member of the Johnson City community, who left us on April 8, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on May 21, 1939, in Johnson City, TN, Johnny was a lifelong resident of the area, where he made countless memories and friendships.
Johnny was a dedicated shipping assistant in the chemical industry, working at Eastman, where his hard work and friendly nature made him a beloved colleague. Beyond his professional life, he found immense joy in playing softball and baseball in the Washington County leagues, where many will remember his passion for the game and the camaraderie it brought.
A man of deep faith, Johnny loved the Lord and made it a point to read his Bible every day. His spiritual commitment influenced many around him, and he was known for sharing his wisdom and kindness with everyone he met.
Johnny was preceded in death by parents John Fox, Ada Martin; two brothers Bill Fozx, and Bud Fox; and sister Margaret Fox.
He is survived by special friend Alyce Whaley; and special nephew Stephen Bryan Fox.
Johnny's family and friends are invited to join together to celebrate his life and the legacy he leaves behind. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 Am Monday April 13, 2026 at Gray Cemetery 193 Liberty Church Rd, Gray, TN, where we will gather to honor his memory and the love he shared with all of us.
