Joseph 'Dwight'? Baird, 80, of Gray, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport.He was a native of Mt. City and a son of the late Carlton and Laura McGuire Baird. Mr. Baird was also preceded by three brothers, Dana, Dick and Dallas Baird and one grandson, Chad Barron.Mr. Baird was a forty year employee of the Kingsport Press. He was a member of the Hales Chapel Christian Church.Mr. Baird was a WWII U. S. Army veteran. He served in Germany.Survivors include; his wife, Beulah S. Baird; one son, Dwight David Baird of Gray; four daughters, Sandra Elliott of Gray, Susan Boyd of Kingsport, Deborah Baird of Jonesborough and Laura Hefnawy of Greeneville; two brothers, William D. Baird of Bluff City and Lawrence Baird of Kingsport; seven sisters, Ruby Russell of Bristol, VA, Ivadean McMaster of Kingsport, Shirley Thomas Bluff City, Margie Hobby of Johnson City,Fay Williams, Kay Warren and Sharon Blevins all of Piney Flats; eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm Sunday, August 2, 2009 from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Mr. Lamar Garrison will officiate. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Monday from Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 1:30 on Monday and proceed to the cemetery. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Sunday.
