Listen to Obituary

Karen Diana Cole left her earthly home on September 15, 2025, to be with her Lord and Savior, whom she loved dearly and faithfully served since the age of 12.

She was born in Washington County, Tennessee, to the late Thomas Martin Cole, Sr. and Bea Edwards Cole. Despite many health challenges throughout her life, Karen remained steadfast in her faith, always looking to God for strength—and He delivered every time. Karen was a devoted witness for Christ wherever she went and was known by many as a true prayer warrior.

A 1969 graduate of Jonesboro High School, Karen maintained close ties with many of her classmates and cherished each one.

While raising her children, Karen worked at Holston Valley Hospital, retiring after 25 years of dedicated service. She raised her children with deep love and modeled God’s love to them daily.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Jennifer Ann Jones, whom she loved beyond measure.

She is survived by her sons, Eric Nathan Jones and wife Bridget, and Jeromy Michael Jones and wife Michelle; daughter, Kristy Jones; granddaughters, Alexis Moore and Aleah McCamey and husband Austin; grandsons, Brandon Jones and Aydan Masoner; great-granddaughters, Kimber, Navy, Lyla, and Ahliveia; her brother, Thomas Martin Cole, Jr. and wife Cathy; and her twin sister, Sharon Ann Cole, who was her caregiver and best friend.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 4:00 PM, with receiving of friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, officiated by Pastor John Herdman. A private committal service will be held at a later date at Washington County Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church Cancer Fund.
