Kathryn Ann Barr Campbell

April 10, 1934 — August 1, 2013

Kathryn Barr Campbell, 79, of Johnson City, has gone to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 1, 2013. She was a native of Banner Elk, NC, daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth Shomaker Howell. Kathryn was a retired part owner of the Garland Lumber Company. She was a longtime member of the Southside Baptist Church, member of the Fidellis Sunday School Class, enjoyed quilting with ladies of the church, on the food committee and helped with the food bank. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Barr; a sister, Patricia Howell; a son-in-law, Tommy Lowe. Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Howell and Amy Barr of Apex, NC; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Lowe and Chuck Ferris of Knoxville, TN; a step daughter, Linda Smith of Elizabethton; a sister, Carolyn Brewer of Elk Park, NC; five grandchildren and two grandchildren-in-law, Jason and Kara Lowe, Heath and Sarah Lowe, John, Avery and Joseph Barr; a step-grandchild, Ellie Smith; two great grandchildren, Natalie and Thomas Lowe; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, August 5, 2013 at 1:00 pm in the North Chapel of the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Pastor William Lunsford. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until time of service at 1:00 pm. A committal service will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Memorials may be made to the Southside Baptist Church, 1928 Wheeler Street, Johnson City, TN 37601.
