Obituary for Kendred Alan Young

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kendred Alan Young, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world on May 20, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on September 2, 1941, in Roan Mountain, TN, Kendred was a proud veteran who served his country in the Army, a true testament to his character and commitment to his country.

After college Kendred worked for AFG Glass, and the FDA. He started his own company Tri-State Analytical Laboratory. He was more than just a business owner; he was a dedicated figure in the laboratory industry and had a natural way of connecting with people. His passion for his work, his community, and his family made him a cherished presence in the lives of those who knew him. He was a true Tennessean. He bled orange.

Kendred was preceded in death by parents Leroy Young, Lelia Young, and brother John Young

He is survived by his two daughters, Karen Lunsford and Teresa Hampton, and his four grandchildren: Samantha Young, Jonathan Frazier, Jessica Frazier, and Nolan Lunsford. Three great grandchildren Evelynn Frazier, Millie Hayden, and Lyra Frazier, and beloved nephews. Each of them carries a piece of Kendred's spirit and love, ensuring his memory will live on through generations.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate Kendred's life on Tuesday May 27, 2025. From 5-7 PM at Morris Baker Funeral Home. A graveside will be held Wednesday Mayb 28, 2025 10:00 AM at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone is welcome to join us in sharing stories, laughter, and memories that honor his incredible journey. We'd love for you to bring along your favorite stories and a smile, as we remember a man who brought joy and inspiration to so many.

Rest in peace, Kendred. You will be missed but never forgotten.
