Listen to Obituary

On February 3, Kim Blevins age 67, flew home to rest in the arms of her Jesus. She passed peacefully with her life partner and devoted husband Steve by her side. A true angel on this earth she received her reward for fighting the good fight and no doubt heard, "Well done my good and faithful servant." Kim always said she would be "Seven in Heaven", and this child of God is now front row center at the Throne of Grace.

Kim was born in Louisville, KY and raised in Abingdon, VA from age 3. She married her soulmate on June 21, 1980. Kim was a cum laude graduate of ETSU and retired after 33 years working for the University. She was a founding member and prayer warrior for Word Fellowship Church in Gray. A selfless volunteer who joyfully served in numerous roles, her favorite was leading the Ladies Prayer Team. Kim was also an integral team member for the United Emmaus Community, with her preferred role serving in the Prayer Room. Her connection to the Holy Spirit was palpable, her faith unshakeable and her love for Jesus evident to all who knew her. A huge hole is left in her church, family and friend's hearts. Her tiny shoes will be big ones to fill.

Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Stigers and Grace Minton Stigers, and sister Kathy Barger.

Surviving family includes her loving husband of 46 years, Steven D. Blevins; four siblings: Carol Davis, Rosemary Shatley, Brenda Neese and Michael Stigers; bonded-at-birth informally adopted daughters, Lura "Lee" Colette Burgin (Robert) and Amber Colette Deitz (Jody); brother-in-law Michael Blevins (Debbie); several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and even a few great-greats.

Arrangements are being handled by Morris-Baker Funeral Home, Johnson City, TN. Services will be held at Word Fellowship Church in Gray, TN on Sunday, February 15, with Pastors Chad Lakey and Mike Gray officiating. Receiving of friends will be from 3:00 to 5:00 PM with a celebration of life immediately following at 5PM.
