Lannie Ray Sheets, 81, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 18, 2026. A lifelong resident of Johnson City, Lannie was born on October 26, 1944, to the late Roy and Julia Taylor Sheets.
Lannie met the love of his life, Lesia Pauff, at First Free Will Baptist Church in Johnson City. Their shared faith became the foundation of a loving marriage that began on May 3, 1985. The church and its community remained an important part of Lannie and Lesia’s lives throughout the years.
Lannie enjoyed bowling and was an active participant in a local bowling league. More than anything, he cherished time spent with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his steadfast faith, kind heart, and the love he had for those closest to him.
In addition to his parents, Lannie was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Sheets.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 41 years, Lesia Sheets; sons, Chris Sheets and Brian (Ambria) Sheets; grandchildren, Scotty (Cassie) Sheets, Nicholas Sheets, Noah (Morgan) Sheets, Breonna Sheets, and Aaleah Sheets; five great-grandchildren, Karma, Brylei, Mason, Bryleigh, and Bennett; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Todd) Moody and Susan Pauff; brothers-in-law, Lewis (Dianne) Pauff, Arthur Pauff, and David Pauff; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Lannie’s family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:30 p.m., officiated by Pastor Dan Foster and Pastor Tony Trott. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
