Leonard Smith Arthur Leonard Smith (AKA)

Leonard Smith, age 87 of Limestone, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026 at Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Washington County and a son of the late, Frank and Sarepta Smith. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Delores White Smith, son, Terry Wayne Smith, brothers, John, David, Walt, Bill, Virgil, and Earl Smith, sisters, Sarah Smith, Irene Carpenter, and Florence Story.

Leonard was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Johnson City and attended King Springs Baptist Church while his health would allow. He was the owner of Smith's Body Shop in Johnson City and Bristol, but he enjoyed working in his garage at home most.

Survivors include; daughters, Linda Black and husband Jeff, Brenda Turner and husband Johnny; nine grandchildren, Amanda and husband Nathan, Bryan and wife Sandy, Adam, Kenneth, Matthew, Josh, Cody, Caleb and Megan, and five great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Cunningham and Sharon Shipley, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:30am until 1:30pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm in Washington County Memory Gardens. All attending are asked to meet there by 1:50pm.

The family would like to thank the staff at Life Care Center of Greeneville for all the care and compassion they showed to Leonard.

Active pallbearers will be Bryan Black, Nathan Chandler, Kenneth Lamons, Matt Lamons, Jeff Black, Johnny Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Black.
