On Friday April 24, 2026, Lester "Buddy" Tipton went to be with the Lord. He would have been 87 years old this July. Buddy was a one of a kind type of man. He was a gentleman with a cowboy's soul. He believed in respect and putting everyone's needs ahead of his own. He was truly many people's safe place and he will be missed more than words can convey.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Carolyn Tipton; sisters Marie Hughes and Bess McCallister; brothers James, Don and Charles Tipton; and mother Mara Mitchell.
He leaves behind his daughter Kimberly, his granddaughter Victoria, and sister Wilma Holland. To mention only a few of his many nieces and nephews, there are also Jamie, Joseph, and Jimmey Hughes, and niece Cathy Summerlin. There are many other family members as well-too many to list-but he loved them all. His family meant everything to him.
He also had lifelong friends, many that have gone on ahead of him and a few that will be lost here without him. He was a retired truck driver that traveled all over the United States in his many years of being on the road. He also bought and sold used cars for most of his life.
He was a Christian who read his Bible and prayed every night. He could be a handful when he wanted to be, but was one of the best men that God has ever placed on this earth. He will leave a hole too large to ever fill again. We will miss him.
As per Bud's wishes there will be no services.
