Louise Oldaker Oyler, age 87, beloved wife of Robert H. Oyler, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, following a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born on October 15, 1938, in Upshur County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Hinzman and Goldie Edith Oldaker. Louise lived in West Virginia, Akron, Ohio, Kingsport, Tennessee, and most recently at Windsor House in Greenville, South Carolina.
Louise and Robert were married on September 27, 1958, at the Akron Baptist Temple in Akron, Ohio. Her Christian faith was central to her life and guided her as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Much of her work outside the home was spent lovingly caring for children at several childcare facilities in Kingsport, Tennessee. She was known as a sweet, gentle, and loving soul to all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert H. Oyler; her children, Deborah Taylor of Greenville, South Carolina, Robert E. Oyler of Bristol, Tennessee, and Daniel Oyler of Kingsport, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Wayne Taylor, Chris Taylor, Raymond Oyler, and Noah Oyler; and her brother, Donald Oldaker.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her sisters, Lavonne Bondurant and Linda Reynolds.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bible Way Church, 570 Packing House Road, Kingsport, Tennessee 37660.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday May 5, 2026, at Washington County Memory Gardens in Johnson City, Tennessee.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude for the love and compassionate care shown to Louise by the devoted staff of Windsor House and Hospice of the Upstate.
