Luther Toler

Luther Toler, 87, of 1276 Austin Springs Road, Piney Flats died Friday, November 13, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Toler was a native of Simon, West Virginia, had lived in Ohio, Illinois, Florida, South Carolina and came to Tennessee in 1992. He was a son of the late Johnny and Mary Ellen Aliff Toler. Mr. Toler was a retired machinist in the industrial trade. He was also a Air Force veteran of WW II and was on the Methodist faith. He is preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Norlin Toler; and a sister, Lucy Harvey. Survivors include: his wife of sixty two years, Notie Hatfield Toler of the home; one son, Gary Lee Toler of Renton, Washington; one daughter, Diana S. Toler of the home; one brother, Brian Toler of Jesse, West Virginia; three sisters, Polly Crouch and Lula Neal, both of Beckley, West Virginia and Ethel Blankenship of Clear Fork, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service for Luther Toler will be conducted at 7 PM Sunday, November 15, 2009 in the North Chapel of the Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Rev. Joey Manis will officiate. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 6:30 to 7 PM prior to the service on Sunday. Memorial gifts may be sent to any charity that helps veterans .
