Martha Jane Hensley

Ms. Martha Jane Hensley, 73, Johnson City, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014, in the Johnson City Medical Center. Ms. Hensley was a native of Avery County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late John Larry and Martha Bare Keener. She was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church and a homemaker. In addition to her parents her first husband, Elmer Laws, Sr.; two brothers, Madison Keener and John Keener; one grandson, Matthew McWilliams also preceded her in death. Survivors include: five daughters, Sandy Laws Abrams and her husband Arthur, Cindy Laws McWilliams, Sherry Laws Carden and her husband Robin, Terri Laws Calvert and her husband JC and Wendy Laws; two sons, Elmer Laws and Robert Hensley, Jr. and his wife Debbie; one sister, Anne Mae Lowe and her husband, Fred; twenty-six grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; second husband and loving friend, Robert Hensley, Sr.; several nieces and nephews. The family of Ms. Martha Jane Hensley will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Sunday, December 7, 2014, in the Greenwood Baptist Church. The Celebration of Life Service will follow with Rev. Harold McNabb officiating.
