Mary K. Evans

Mary K. Evans, 85, of 927-A Lake Drive, Johnson City, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 in the Wexford House in Kingsport. Mrs. Evans was a native of Butler, Tennessee and a daughter of the late Jessie Coy and Iva Slemp Triplett. She was a homemaker and member of the East Unaka Christian Church. Mrs. Evans is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Sammy Evans; one sister Gladys Wagner; and a brother Maynard Triplett. Survivors include: two sons, Marvin Evans and his wife Rhonda of Church Hill, TN and Wade Evans of Johnson City; one brother, Ralph Triplett and his wife Frances of Jonesborough; one special granddaughter Shannon Evans; sister-in-law, Wilma Triplett; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mary K. Evans will be conducted at 8 PM Friday, January 11, 2008 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Dr. Wayne Emery will officiate. The committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone will assemble at Morris-Baker Saturday at 10:45 AM to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Family and Friends. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Friday prior to the service.
