Mary Ruth Ratliff Smith, 76, of Bristol, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at her home.
She was a native of Wise, Virginia, daughter of the late Cecil W. Ratliff Sr. and Ruby Hamilton Ratliff.
Mary dedicated her life to being a homemaker, taking great pride in caring for both her home and her family. She was a fastidious housekeeper both indoors and outdoors, keeping the house spotless and her garden flourishing; she loved everything that bloomed. Mary’s talent in the kitchen was always appreciated by her family, who she loved to spend time with around the table. She also enjoyed caring for them with her crocheting skills, keeping everyone cozy in their own comfy house shoes.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: daughter, Marjorie Lee Hawkins; sister, Judy; and brother, Jimmy.
Survivors include: sons, Doug Little and wife Nikki, and Billy Little; sisters, Nancy and Toni; brother, Danny; many nieces and nephews; and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Mary Smith will be laid to rest at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 18, 2024, in Shipley Cemetery (1645 Hickory Tree Road, Bristol, TN, 37620). Pallbearers will be JJ Smith, Trey Smith, Dustin Smith, Hunter Smith, Hunter Smithson, and Erik Toland. Those attending are asked to gather at the graveside by 12:50 PM.
