Michael Randy Flynn

Michael Randy Flynn, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on April 11, 1954, in Asheville, NC, Michael lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to his family and career.

Known for his warm heart, friendly demeanor. He was a compassionate and giving person. Michael worked as an insurance agent, where he touched the lives of many with professionalism and care. He served his country proudly in the Army as a Security agent as a level spec 4 and served as a Major in the TN State Guard. He attended Higher Ground Baptist Church. Michael was also a member of the American Legion of Unicoi. He carried that spirit of service throughout his life.

Michael was preceded in death by parents Bert Flynn, Vivian Lambert, and grandson Jacob

Michael leaves behind his cherished wife, Elaine Flynn; daughter Jessica Shipman (David Bailey); his two sons, Michael Canipe, and Steven Canipe (Shirley); grandchildren Logan, Abigail, Oliver, and Hudson; and one great grandson James. He was a constant source of support and joy for his family, and he will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held to honor Michael life at 2:00 PM Wednesday February 11, 2026, at Morris Baker Funeral Home. Pastor Roy Yelton, and Pastor Jason Dowdell will officiate the services. A gathering will follow of family and friends at Oakland Baptist Church.

Rest in peace, Michael. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
