 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Dean Thompson, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Michael, who was born on July 19, 1968, in Johnson City, TN, left us too soon on March 30, 2026.

 Michael was known by many as a gentle giant. He lived life with a fierce work ethic and a heart of gold, dedicating himself to his craft as a self-employed carpenter. His hands built not only homes but also the foundation for a loving family. He was a protector at his core, always ready to lend a hand to those in need and face life's challenges fearlessly.

 Michael was preceded in death by Mother Elizabeth Ramsey; brother Roy Allen Thompson; mother-in-law Wanda Mitchell; brother-in-law Kevin Mitchell; and lifetime father figure Harold Bishop.

 He leaves behind his cherished wife, Krista Mitchell-Thompson, who was the love of his life; Children River M Cazire; daughter Holly E. Thompson; grandchildren Roman Cazire, Marley E Thompson, and Augustus C. Thompson; devoted father by osmosis Ronald W. Mitchell; children by osmosis Brandon L Linkous, Benjamin T Leonard, Elyus M Leonard, Beyond his family, Michael had a unique ability to light up a room and make everyone feel welcome. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

 Funeral services will be held in future days, where friends and family will gather to celebrate Michael's life and share stories of his kindness and strength. We invite all who knew him to join us in honoring the legacy of this remarkable man.
