Myrtle Cross

Myrtle Church Cross, 81, of Piney Flats, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at her residence surrounded by family. She was a native of Beach Mountain, NC, daughter of the late Marion and Hildred Lewis Church. Myrtle was former employee of Raytheon and homemaker. She was a member of Poplar Ridge Christian Church. Myrtle was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, several brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Survivors include: her husband, William A. Cross of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Becky Cross, Anita and Michael Pansock all of Piney Flats; a brother, Herman Church of Johnson City; a sister, Doris Scott of Watauga; two granddaughters, Jessi Pansock (fianc?; Jake Jones) and Taylor Pansock (fianc?; Tyler Gaby). The family would like to offer special thanks to: her caregiver, Connie Johnson and the MSHA Hospice team, Laura, Claire, Taranna and Nikki. A private memorial service was conducted in the Oak Chapel of the Morris-Baker Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Monday, February 6, 2017 under the direction of Mr. Roland Whittemore.
