Jonesborough, TN — With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patsy Blevins on March 30, 2026, following a courageous battle with illness at Johnson City Medical Center.
Patsy was born on June 22, 1939, in Washington County, Tennessee. She was raised in a loving family by Floyd Benjamin and Olive Wright Cozad. Throughout her life, Patsy was dedicated to serving others, working at East Tennessee State University and in the Charlotte school system. She touched countless lives with her kindness, compassion, and unwavering sense of purpose.
A woman of deep faith, Patsy loved God, her family, and her church community. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she found great joy and fellowship.
Patsy was one of twelve children—seven sisters and four brothers—and shared a special bond with her siblings. Her sisters were her constant companions and greatest support. She found immense joy in her nieces and nephews, and her love extended warmly to all.
She especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren, whom she loved as her own. Patsy had a gift for making everyone feel welcome—her home was always open to those in need of comfort, care, or a good meal.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” E. Blevins; son, William “Bill” E. Jones, Jr.; her sisters, Carolyn Henderson, Joann Crawford, Eunice Owens, Ruthie Marie Cozad Hollifield, Lynda Kious, and Patricia Jones; and her brothers, Bob Cozad, Eldon Cozad, Olan Henry Cozad, Russell Cozad, and Floyd Arthur “F.A.” Cozad.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Ellen Whitehead, Ginger (Richard) Pratt, and Teresa Fenner; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Patsy’s presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, faith, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 211 Mayflower Rd, Johnson City, TN 37601. Visitation will take place from 5:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., with the service to follow at 6:00 p.m. A private graveside service will be held at a later time with family.
