Patti Pickel

Patti Pickel, 65, our loving wife, daughter, mom and nana went to her heavenly home on October 25, 2009 following a brief illness. She loved being outside in the summer sunshine working in her flowers. The true love and devotion of her life were her children and grandchildren; she was awaiting the arrival of her fourth grandchild. Patti Pickel of 805 Hiwassee Heights, Johnson City was a daughter of the late Guy Peterson and Nadine Peterson of Johnson City. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sinking Creek Baptist Church. Survivors other then her mother include: her husband, Fred C. Pickel of the home; three children, Kim Pickel of Johnson City, Eric and his wife Courtney Pickel of Lynchburg, VA, Deanna and her husband Samuel Barnett of Johnson City; three grandchildren, Brittany Hughes, Garrett Barnett and Andrew Barnett, all of Johnson City; one brother Gary Peterson of Johnson City; one sister, Dottie Tipton of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Patti Pickel will be conducted at 8 PM Wednesday, October 28, 2009 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Reece Harris will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday in the Roselawn Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at Morris-Baker at 10:30 AM Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Morris-Baker prior to the service.
