Pauline W. Shelton

Pauline W. Shelton, 81, 1811 E. Oakland Ave., died Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at her residence. Mrs. Shelton was a Defiance, KY native and had lived in Johnson City since 1959. She was a daughter of the late Edward and Ettie Catron Whitaker and was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Alvin D. Shelton; three brothers, Herbert Whitaker, Claude Whitaker and Jimmy Whitaker and one sister, Maxine Flinchum. Mrs. Shelton was a member of Tri-Cities Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Ralph Shelton and his wife, Tammy, Johnson City, Dr. Richard Shelton and his wife, Judy, Nashville, TN; one daughter, Betty Villier and her husband, Shef, Johnson City; three brothers, Robert Whitaker, Sweetwater, TN, Luther Whitaker, Murfreesboro, TN and Manuel Whitaker, Fresno, CA; six grandchildren, Abby, Amelia and Maureen Shelton and Marissa, Jacob and Caroline Shelton. A funeral service for Mrs. Shelton will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday, February 2, 2006 from the Morris-Baker Funeral North Chapel. Reverend Arden Taylor will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Friday, February 3, 2006 at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
