Phyllis Colleen Nelson Cretsinger, 45, 112 Miller Hill Road, Johnson City, died Sunday, July 17, 2005 at her residence. Mrs. Cretsinger was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. She was a daughter of Frank Nelson of Bowmantown and the late Ada Mae Metcalf Nelson. Mrs. Cretsinger was a homemaker and a member of Day of Deliverance Revival Center. She is preceded in death by her mother, her grandmother, Nola Nelson and a brother, Ronnie Nelson. Survivors include: husband, John W. Cretsinger, Sr. of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Marc McAmis of Johnson City; one step-daughter and husband, Loretta and Bob Bowers of Johnson City; one step-son, John W. Cretsinger, Jr. of Baltimore, Maryland; two brothers, Frankie Nelson of Greenville, Jeff Nelson and special sister-in-law Margie of Elizabethton; two sisters, Lisa Johnson and Pam Nelson of Unicoi; two step-grandchildren, Robbie Bowers and Cassie Miller of Johnson City, special cousin, Judy Weems of Jonesborough; special friends, Mary and Junior Hale, Gomer Feathers, Doris McAmis and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. The funeral service for Phyllis Colleen Nelson Cretsinger will be conducted at 8 PM Tuesday, July 19, 2005 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Mark Price will officiate. The music will be by the Dry Creek Church Singers. The graveside service will be at 10 AM Wednesday, in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 9:30 AM Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Donald Feathers, Tim Baker, David Smith, Bobby Ingram, Scott Trent, and Jamie Gillis. Honorary pallbearers will be Walt Baker, Eddie Baker, Carl Miller and Junior Hale. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday in the funeral chapel.
