Ray J. Peterson

Ray J. Peterson, 82, of 4000, Englewoode East, Johnson City, departed this life in the presence of his loving family Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. He was born in Erwin, Tennessee, son of the late Sherman and Mittie Clyde Peterson. Mr. Peterson was veteran of WWII having served in the U. S. Army in the Philippines. He was a retired employee of AFG Glass, Inc. of Kingsport for 28 years. He leaves behind a loving wife of 60 years, Dortha Allen Peterson of the home; two daughters, Linda Rader and Anita Pritchard; a granddaughter, Melissa Rader Whaley and a son-in-law Don Rader all of Johnson City. A graveside service will be held at the Washington County Memory Gardens on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James Cambron officiating. VFW post #3382 of Kingsport will provide Military Honors. Pallbearers will be: Don Rader, Kenny Hammitt, Russell Bowman, Kevin Stafford, Herbert Payne and Boo Crowley.
