Rilda E. Sparks

Rilda E. Sparks, 92, formerly of Johnson City, died Thursday, December 7, 2006 at the Titusville Nursing and Rehab Center in Titusville, Florida. She was a native of Carter County, daughter of the late Jim and Martha Burleson Freeman. Rilda was a charter member of the Pinecrest Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Robert Sparks. Survivors include: two daughters, June Gauger of Blowing Rock, NC and Sue Gaslin of Titusville, FL; a son, Robert Sparks and his wife Judy of Hickory, NC; three grandchildren, Traci Forbes and her husband Barry, Robert and Paul Sparks; two great grandchildren, Molli and Luke Forbes. A funeral is scheduled for Monday, December 11, 2006 in the North Chapel of the Morris - Baker Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. under the direction of Rev. Gary D. Thacker. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at ten.
