Robert Boone Carver

Robert Boone Carver, age 83, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

A lifelong resident of Washington County, Robert was born June 1, 1939, to the late Jim David Carver and Mary Naomi Waycaster Carver. He was of the Baptist faith.

Robert served in the United States Army where he was stationed out of Fort Knox and trained soldiers for Vietnam. He also worked for The City of Johnson City in the street department, he was a farmer, and he worked construction for Thacker Roof and Decking. He was an excellent craftsman and he enjoyed woodworking, making dog houses and mini barns in his shop. He also enjoyed keeping busy outside and gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 42 years, Judith Miller Carver; daughter, Darlene (Stan) Carroll of Johnson City; sons, Randall (Rhoda) Carver of Unicoi and RB Carver of Washington County; stepchildren, Darrin (Sandy) Emerson and Richard (Judy) Emerson of Ohio; 17 grandchildren, Mary Jane Carver, Judy Alice Carver, Samuel Dale Carver, Daisy Mae Carver, Rebecca (Markus) Vaughn, Bradley Carroll, Terra Rhea, McKenzie Vaughn, Brayden Vaughn, Sarah Emerson, Kayla Emerson, Brandon Emerson, Bryan Emerson, Samantha Emerson, Jacob Emerson, Sierra Reuion, and Nova Reuion; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Regina (Bill) Garland and Evelyn Hicks; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no public services at this time. Interment at Mountain Home National Cemetery will occur at a later date.
