Robert Virgil Greene, Jr.

Robert Virgil Greene, Jr, 78, a Johnson City native, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, after a lengthy illness.

Robert was born to the late Robert V. “Bud” Greene, Sr and Amanda E. Pierce Greene Barnett.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He was a former HVAC and sheet metal worker of 45 years.

Robert’s favorite hobbies and pastimes included: trout fishing on the riverbank, camping, and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by: three siblings, Kenneth Greene, Earl Greene, and Shirley Calloway, all of Johnson City, TN; one uncle, Dave Greene of Cleveland, TN; three aunts, Marie Greene of Erwin, TN, Jean Campbell of Los Angeles, CA, and Ina Bell of Riceville, TN.

Those remaining to cherish his memory include: his loving wife of 44 years, Mrs. Carolyn R. Greene; four children, Scott (Karyn), Amanda, Tina, and Barton (Joanna); five grandchildren, Charity, Kayla, Robert, Ashlee, and Haylee; three stepchildren; Bobbie, James, and Amber; one brother, Edward (Judy); all of Johnson City, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will have a Celebration of Life Service for Robert at a later date.
