Roderick Lain Smith

Lain Smith, 69, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 31st, 2020, while helping on a neighbor’s deck.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Joycelyln Martin Smith and Roderick Kenneth Smith. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Penney Lynn Smith; sister, Gail Ataya; son, Shane Smith; aunt, Ramona Martin; several nieces and nephews; feline furbaby, Bogey and canine companion Divot.
Lain was a Pennsylvania High School wrestling champion and played free safety for The Ohio State Buckeyes.
After retiring from the United States Marine Corps, he continued his athletic career as a member of the Professional Golfer’s Association of America. Golf was his passion.
