Ron Harris

Ronald "Ron" Harris, age 80 of Johnson City, Tennessee passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025 at his home. He was born on March 11, 1945 in Shelby, North Carolina to the late Claude and Madge Harris. He was married to the love of his life, Lynn Beam on December 26, 1964 in Shelby, North Carolina.

He graduated with honors from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He then joined the Air Force for four years, where with his wife they were assigned to the National Security Agency in Maryland.

After the military Ron and Lynn moved to Melbourne, Florida where he went to work for the Harris Corporation. From there they moved to Johnson City, Tennessee where he worked for Texas Instruments which was bought out by Seimens Corporation, where he retired.

Ron loved music, plays, and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lynn Beam Harris, and his "best buddy in the whole world," Will Blevins. 

Memorial Contributions in Ron's memory may be made to Niswonger Children's Hospital, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or The Washington County Humane Society. 

Per Mr. Harris' request he is to be cremated, and no services are to be scheduled.
