Ronald Lee Saults

Ronald Lee Saults, 56, 130 Pansy Street, died Friday, February 24, 2006 at his residence. Mr. Saults was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. He was a son of the late Roy Lee Saults and Ida Louise Blevins Saults and was also preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Saults. Mr. Saults was a retired tool and die maker after twenty years service with Snap-On Tools. He was a US Navy Vietnam veteran and served in the National Guard. Mr. Saults attended the Tiger Creek Baptist Church. He was a Golden Gloves boxer with 105 fights with only two defeats. Survivors include: his wife, June Saults; two sons, Michael Wexler Saults and his wife, Dawn of Johnson City; Quentin Saults and his wife Lori of Kingsport; one daughter, Echo Hyatt Chance and her husband, Gordon of Johnson City; one sister, Betty Holtsclaw of Johnson City; six grandchildren, Brandon Bishop, Dakota Wexler, Jason Reed, Skyler Hyatt, Destiny Hyatt, and Trayvor Hyatt and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mr. Saults will be conducted at 8 PM Sunday, February 26, 2006 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Rev. Perry Markland will officiate. Military graveside honors will be held at 2 PM Monday at the Mountain Home National Cemetery under the direction of the Kingsport VFW Post # 3382. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 PM and travel in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Benny Lovelace (a lifelong friend), Jim Church, Jeff Laws, Jim Lovelace, Gene and Bobby Blakley. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Bishop, John Presnell, Tom Bishop, James Smithpeters, and Terry Bowers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
