Obituary for Rev. Ronald Clark Tabor
Ronald Clark Tabor, a beloved father, preacher, and true hero in the eyes of all who knew him, passed away on May 6, 2026, at the age of 86 in his hometown of Johnson City, TN. Born on July 27, 1939, Ronald was a fixture in his community, known for his heartfelt sermons and unwavering faith.
Ronald worked in the furniture industry as a sander at Gordon's/Thomasville, but his calling truly came from his work as a preacher, which he devoted over 50 years to. He touched countless lives with his words of encouragement and hope, always reminding everyone to keep the faith.
Ronald was preceded in death by Parents Swanson Tabor, and Mildred Lunceford, Step father Aurther Lunceford; first Wife Mayfree Bailey Tabor; Cousin Bobbie Faye Warden; two sons-in-law Richard Goodman, and Edward Lee Moon Sr; special friend Gail & Willard Franklin.
In addition to his ministry, Ronald was a remarkable father to his five children: Lora McGee, & (Matthew), Ruth Goodman, Michael Tabor, Kimberly Moon, and Crystal Mathes; seven grandchildren Makalia Crump, Alicia Shelton, Katrina Goodman, Sierra Goodman, Nickolas Mathes, Edward Moon, Ronnie Moon; Ten Great Grandchildren Parker Crump, Madison Miller, Madayln Shelton, Zayden Daniels, Zaylee Goodman, Loralie Mathes, Domnick Mathes, Chole Bell Moon, Nevaeh Moon, Alexis Moon. He cherished his family above all, pouring his love and wisdom into each of their lives. A fighter at heart, Ronald battled cancer not once, but twice, proving his resilience and the strength of his spirit.
Funeral services will be held in honor of Ronald's life and legacy, where family and friends will gather Thursday May 14, 2026, from 5-7 PM at Morris Baker Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at 7 PM. The graveside service will be held Friday May 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
Thank you, Ron, for being the best father, preacher, and friend. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
