Ronnie Nathaniel Buttram, age 75, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
Ronnie was born on October 28, 1950, in Piedmont, Alabama, to the late Alvin and Hazel Buttram. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. In recognition of his service, Ronnie received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Ronnie enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially riding the backroads in search of deer and other wildlife. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent over twenty years working in maintenance at both Wal-Mart locations in Johnson City.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Stanley Buttram.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Gayle Buttram; daughter, Samantha (Nick) Seay; son, Nathan Buttram; grandson, Tristian Seay; granddaughters, Caprina and Cara Buttram; and niece, Jennifer (Harm) Veen.
Services will be private, with burial to take place at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made toward Ronnie’s burial expenses through the crowdfunding link provided on his obituary page.
