Kingsport, Tennessee

Rosalie Berry Cox, age 81, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Hardin Valley in Knoxville.

Rosalie was the daughter of the late Leroy and Rosa Berry. Born and raised in Johnson City, Tennessee, she graduated from Science Hill High School in 1961. She went on to work at General Shale Brick, where she retired after 34 years of dedicated service as the Accounts Payable Supervisor.

In 1962, she married the love of her life, Harlis Lee Cox. Together, they shared 63 beautiful years of marriage until Harlis' passing in 2024.

Rosalie had a kind and nurturing spirit, and she was a friend to everyone she met. She loved gardening, cooking, working puzzle books, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. A devoted animal lover, she especially cherished the companionship of her cat, Freddie, who was by her side for over 15 years.

A longtime member of Fordtown Baptist Church in Gray, Rosalie was active in many aspects of church life. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and faithfully served in Vacation Bible School for many years.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Stacy Cox and his wife, Sara Catron-Cox; her grandson, Harrison Kincaid and his wife, Ashleigh; her granddaughter, Onise Cox; and her great-granddaughters, Ellie Anne and Emma Elisabeth Kincaid. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mamie Marie Short; special nephew, Bobby Hite; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Rosalie will be laid to rest in a private entombment at Washington County Memory Gardens.
