Roy W. Shelton

Roy W. Shelton, 82, of 812 Jared Drive, Johnson City died Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Asbury Place. Mr. Shelton was a native of Greene County, TN and had lived in Johnson City most of his life. He was a son of the late Eugene M. and Carletta Hensley Shelton. Mr. Shelton was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Gordons Furniture as a machine operator. He is preceded in death by: his parents; a son Jimmy Lee Shelton in 1992; two sisters Pauline Jenkins and Pearl Jones; and one brother Alonza Shelton. Survivors include: his wife Edith E. Hicks Shelton of the home; one brother, Horace 'Lee' Shelton of Los Angeles, CA; one granddaughter Misty Ann Shelton of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family of Roy W. Shelton will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Morris-Baker North Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 AM Monday, February 8, 2010 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Rev. Bill Brown will officiate. Everyone will meet at the cemetery.
